In September of 2021, the National Fair Housing Alliance (NFHA), in partnership with Urban Institute and the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), hosted a virtual forum on Special Purpose Credit Programs (SPCPs) to introduce what at the time was a developing topic. Two years later, SPCPs have been launched by dozens of mortgage lenders and Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs).
