As we reflect on the strides made since the enactment of the Fair Housing Act in 1968, we at the National Fair Housing Alliance are reminded of the pivotal role it plays in ensuring equal access to housing opportunities for all. However, our commitment to fair housing extends far beyond a single month of recognition; it is a continuous endeavor that demands unwavering attention and action every day. Join us in honoring the legacy of the Fair Housing Act while reaffirming our collective dedication to upholding fair housing principles year-round.
“Now. with this bill, the voice of justice speaks again. It proclaims that fair housing for all – all human beings who live in this country – is now a part of the American way of life.”
During this Fair Housing Month, NFHA is excited to delve into the rich history of fair housing while also spotlighting initiatives aimed at advancing housing equity. This April, NFHA will not only commemorate the milestones achieved since the inception of the Fair Housing Act but will also shine a spotlight on pressing issues such as the proposed Affirmatively Fair Housing Rule. We’ll explore NFHA’s ongoing efforts dedicated to cultivating inclusive communities and we’ll address the critical topics of Responsible AI in fair housing and fair lending, as well as the pervasive issue of appraisal bias. Join us in these crucial conversations as we work towards a future where fair housing is not just a goal, but a reality for all.
