Can (A)I keep a secret? How Artificial Intelligence affects our voting rights (KU Leuven)

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems by political actors to influence citizens’ voting behaviour carries numerous ethical, legal and technical implications. Before allowing such systems, these implications need to be addressed to ensure that AI truly benefits society, instead of jeopardizing fundamental rights or undermining democracy as a collective value. In this blogpost, we wish to contribute to the discussion by providing a brief overview of the main considerations in this context.
