Across the country, civil rights are being stripped away. The administration just zeroed out all funding for the Fair Housing Initiatives Program, a vital program that funds nonprofit fair housing groups to address illegal housing discrimination, promote fair and affordable housing, and support neighborhood stability. The administration also terminated 78 critical grants used to fight housing discrimination, reversed course on prosecuting race discrimination cases involving Black and Latino people, and moved to erase rules that held governments accountable for segregation and discrimination. It has also banned federal diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives—and unfairly targeted transgender people.
These are not just policy shifts. They are direct threats to the civil rights of millions of people.
At the National Fair Housing Alliance, we’re standing firm. We defend communities from housing discrimination, hold powerful institutions accountable, and push for laws that protect everyone’s right to a safe, affordable home—no matter who they are.
This work is more urgent than ever. But we can’t do it alone.
If you believe in justice, if you believe in equity, we ask you to stand with us now.
Help us keep fighting. Make a gift today.
