What is the Emerging Leaders Initiative?

The Emerging Leaders Initiative (ELI) is for new and emerging advocates in the fair housing movement. The ELI provides future leadership with a comprehensive understanding of the Fair Housing Act. By building an infrastructure that provides the next generation of advocates with tools, resources, and mentorship for success, the initiative seeks to sustain the fair housing movement and ensure that its future leadership is representative of the diverse communities it serves.

Benefits of Joining the ELI

By joining the ELI, you will be able to network with NFHA staff and professionals from other fair housing organizations throughout the country. You will have access to a Microsoft Teams channel dedicated to facilitating communication and connection amongst ELI members. The Teams channel also houses professional development and career opportunities in fair housing, along with events and other happenings in the movement. The ELI hosts several events during the year focusing on topics important to the next generation of fair housing leaders, including a reception held at NFHA’s National Conference.
