Submit Comments on HUD’s Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPR) on “Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing: Streamlining and Enhancements.” It is important for the fair housing movement, along with our friends and allies, to send a strong signal to HUD that the existing AFFH regulation, adopted in 2015, should be preserved and enforced. For HUD to go back to the drawing board and draft a whole new regulation is not only a wasteful duplication of earlier time and effort, it is not likely to result in a regulation that has the clarity, structure, community participation, impact and accountability of the current regulation. The nation would be much better served if HUD simply resumed enforcement of the existing AFFH regulation.
