Join Us at BusBoys & Poets (14th & V), Washington DC
on March 26, 2018, 7 PM – 9 PM
The Fight for Fair Housing book event will be held at Busboys & Poets (14th & V location) and will bring together chapter authors Sam Fullwood III, Lisa Rice, and Editor Gregory D. Squires, to discuss fair housing and the next 50 years of making every neighborhood a place of opportunity. The Fight for Fair Housing, written in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act, brings together the nation’s leading fair housing activists and scholars (many of whom are in both camps) to tell the stories that led to the passage of the Fair Housing Act, its consequences, and the implications of the act going forward. Including an afterword by Walter Mondale, this book is intended for everyone concerned with the future of our cities and equal access for all persons to housing and related opportunities.
Attendees of this free event can enjoy Busboys and Poets’ full menu while hearing from the authors, and can also be entered in to a raffle to get a free copy of the Fight for Fair Housing. Register here.
This event is part of our #FHAct50 Campaign, a year-long campaign to educate the American public about the importance of the Fair Housing Act, advocate for strengthened fair housing policies, and commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the law.
